Chew Stick also known as Licorice Root is widely Used in Africa as a toothbrush, to clean in between teeth after meals and to prevent smoking. These sticks help clean the teeth and freshen the breath. It can used before or after meals. Licorice has been known to treat problems of the gastrointestinal and urinary tracts for many years; it is also used in many remedies for sore throats. It has has also been used to relieve the symptoms of asthma, bronchitis, heartburn and indigestion.
Chew Stick can also be used in preparation of Ginger beer.
